Induction/Orientation Training

An induction / orientation training was conducted by the Administrative and personnel Department of the Institute for new staff as well as re-orientation of old staff on August 28th and 29th, 2007.
Addressing the staff during the opening session, the executive Director, Dr. S.O. Badejo charged the staff of the Institute to respect one another, co-operate and understand one another so as to move the Institute forward. According to the Executive Director, the essence of the induction is to educate the staff on what and how to do things in order to enhance job performance.
Other management staff who presented lectures during the training programme included Dr. A.P. Aluko (Director, Headquarters), Elder J.O. Agun, Assistant Director, (Admin & Personnel), Dr. (Mrs.) E.N. Ekpo, Assistant Director 11 (Forest Conservation & Protection) who also doubles as the Institute’s training officer and Mr. C.A. Adebagbo, Chief Research Officer (FE & E Dept)
Similarly, that of the Federal College of Forestry, Ibadan was held on 5th and 6th September, 2007.
 
Executive Director holds Departmental Interactive Sessions with Staff

The Executive Director of the Institute Dr. S.O.Badejo recently held interactive session with staff of the different Departments of the Institute. The exercise which was held between 11th and 13th Septermber, 2007 was aimed at re-emphasizing staff orientation and the position of the newly introduced structure and organogram of the Institute.
Dr. Badejo who saw the need to re-focus research activities in the Institute charged every staff to be prudent and realistic in costing proposals as he would not entertain over-budgetting. He enjoined the staff to co-operate with their Heads of Departments under the new system and also learn to be punctual to work. He said he needed total and unflinching commitment to research work, adding that from now on, research staff should be prepared to work late since there will be no specific closing time for them.
Apart from the Executive Director, the Director (Headquarters), Assistant Director (Admin. & Personnel) and the various Heads of departments usually address these interactive sessions after which staff were given chance to ask questions or make contribution as they deemed fit.
